PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording sheet having waterproofness, abrasion resistance and weatherability high enough to cause no disorder of print even if the printed sheet is dipped into the water by forming an ink jet recording layer principally comprising thermally fusible micro resin particles on a support. SOLUTION: A plastic film of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, etc., a paper, a nonwoven fabric, or the like, is employed as the support for an ink jet recording sheet. When a plastic sheet is employed, it is treated to facilitate adhesion before an ink receiving layer is formed on one side of the support. Subsequently, ink receiving layer is formed of an aqueous solution of resin or an aqueous solution composing a binder component containing a thermally fusible resin powder and an inorganic and/or organic pigment, as required, and mixed with various promoters, e.g. a stabilizer or dispersant. Preferably, thermally fusible resin has melt viscosity of 100-100,000 cps at 80-200 deg.C. |
