1,090,008. Silo discharging. MIAG MUHLENBAU UND INDUSTRIE G.m.b.H. March 10, 1966 [March 10, 1965], No. 10637/66. Headings B8E and B8S. A silo divided into cells 1 by walls 2 has a discharge opening 7 below which a chain conveyer 4 runs over an intermediate floor 6. The opening 7 is sub-divided into compartments 9 by guide blades 8 mounted between retainers 10 pivotable about 11 by a device 13 to raise them together. The bottom of the guides 8 are progressively higher above the floor 6 in the direction of conveyance and may be curved to direct the material into the direction of conveyance to be deposited in layers on the conveyer. The device 13 adjusts the height of all the guides 8 together so that the relationship between the amounts of material withdrawn from each compartment remains the same as the total quantity withdrawn is varied. The material drops through a hole 16 in the floor 6 to be conveyed back by the lower conveyer run to a discharge opening 21. The cells may be closed by shutters 32 extended transversely of the conveyer 4. The radius of curvature of the bottom of the blades may increase from blade to blade in the direction in which the material is conveyed.
