PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heating device very tough as compared with a thin film by composing a heat storage layer of polyimide resin and employing thick resistor layer and electrode layer which are protected against breakage while employing a heat storage layer composed of polyimide resin. SOLUTION: A glass glaze layer 2 and a heat storage layer 3 are formed on a planar substrate 1 and a common electrode 4 is formed thereon together with a large number of individual electrodes 5. The common electrode 4 has a large number of pectinate tooth parts 4a projecting toward the other end side of the substrate 1 in the breadthwise direction wherein the common electrodes 4 and the individual electrodes 5 are arranged alternately in the longitudinal direction of the substrate 1. A resistor layer 1 is formed on the heat storage layer 3 substantially over the entire length of of the substrate 1 in the longitudinal direction while being coated with a protective,layer 7. The heat storage layer 3 is composed of polyimide resin excellent in heat resistance, hardness and adhesion to other object and projecting upward by 10-20μm from the glass glaze layer 2 while having a width of 0.5-1.5 mm. The common electrode 4 and the individual electrode 5 are formed of a thick gold film.
