PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exclude hindrance factors for the chip process and efficiently apply high-speed cutting by spirally providing a chip breaker groove serving as a nick on outer peripheral cutting edges. SOLUTION: The helix angleαof outer peripheral cutting edges 3 is set to 35 deg. or above, the core thickness 4 of an edge section is set to 80-95% of the edge diameter, the rake angleγof the outer peripheral cutting edges 3 at the angle perpendicular to the axis is set to 30 deg.-0 deg., and the clearance angle is set to about 10 deg.. A chip breaker groove 7 serving as a nick is provided on the outer peripheral cutting edges 3 at the helix angle of about 15 deg. in the left helix direction, and the pitch of the chip breaker groove 7 is set to about 10.1 mm. The chip breaker groove 7 is grind-finished into a U-shape, the depth is set to about 1 mm, and the deepest section coincides with the core thickness 4. It is provided on an end cutting edge, and coating is applied to form an end mill.
