<p>The invention concerns a halogen incandescent lamp mounted without cement, especially one intended for use in a motor vehicle headlight. The lamp according to the invention has a metal holding unit (2) with a recess into which the compressible seal (10) of the lamp tube (1) is securely held by support collars (21a, 21b, 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b). In order to reduce the risk of damage to the compressible seal (10) when the lamp is inserted in the mount, the compressible seal (10) tapers down in steps in the direction of the mount and all the support collars (21a, 21b, 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b) which act on the compressible seal (10) point essentially towards the broad sides of the compressible seal (10) which is substantially rectangular in cross-section, while the narrow sides of the compressible seal (10) are arranged without contact in the support element (2).</p> |
