PRODUCTION OF LITHIUM TITANATE FINE SINTERED PARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a lithium titanate fine sintered particle easy in the dimensional control of particle diameter, capable of easily obtaining a fine sized particulate material and suitable for mass-production. SOLUTION: A dropping original liquid is prepared by dispersing a raw material powder in an aq. solution of water soluble polymer resin having hydroxyl group (preferably polyvinyl alcohol), a wet gel spherical body is obtained by dropping the dropping original liquid in a liquid bath from a nozzle to form a particle shape and simultaneously bringing the particulate liquid drop into contact with the liquid bath to gelatinize the polymer resin compound aq. solution, after being dried, calcined to remove the polymer resin compound and sintered to finally form a lithium titanate fine sintered particle.
