PURPOSE:To enable easy rewriting of data in a cheap optical recording medium in which a resin is used for the recording layer, by forming the recording layer from a shape-memory resin and irradiating the recording layer with laser light to form projections according to data. CONSTITUTION:On recording, projections are formed according to data in the recording layer 3 comprising a shape-memory resin by irradiating the layer 3 with laser light. By heating the recording layer to specified temp., the projections are made to disappear for erasing of the data. Namely, recording is performed by irradiating the recording layer 3 comprising a shape-memory resin with laser light to form pits according to data, and these pits are flattened to erase the data by heating the layer 3 to specified temp. Thereby, a cheap optical recording medium in which rewriting of data is possible can be obtained. |
