PURPOSE:To manufacture a composite molded product of good surface smoothness, light and strong, by setting a core material constituted of a foamed material provided with a supporting body formed of a olefinic polymer and/or a hydrocarbon elastomer in a mold and feeding reaction fluid containing a norbornene monomer and a metathesis catalyst into the mold and bulk polymerizing. CONSTITUTION:A high molecular foamed material is used as a core material, and a supporting body selected out of specified materials is provided in the foamed material. As for the material for the supporting body, an olefinic polymer and/or hydrocarbon elastomer of 150 deg.C or lower or heat deformation temperature is preferable. As for norbornene monomer, a bicyclic component such as 5-phenyl norbornene or the like or a tricyclic component such as dihidro dicyclopentadiene or the like, is used, while as a metathesis catalyst, a halide, an oxyhalide, an oxide or the like of tungsten, molybudenum, tantalum or the like is used. A norbornene group monomer is ring opening polymerized in the bulk by the metathesis catalyst in a mold in the presence of the formed material with supporting body. |
