PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor high in sensitivity and photographic performances by incorporating as a charge generating material titanyl phthalocyanine in a charge generating layer and a specified compound in a charge transfer layer. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic photoreceptor is provided on a conductive substrate with a charge generating layer containing as the charge generating material the titanyl phthalocyanine and a charge transfer layer containing the compound represented by the formula in which each of R<1> and R<3> is, independently, an H atom or an alkyl or alkoxy or aromatic group each optionally substituted; each of R<2> and R<4> is, independently, an H atom or an alkyl, alkenyl, or aralkyl group or the like each optionally substituted; and (n) is an integer of 0-5. The titanylphthalocyanine charge generating material has a maximum intensity peak at a Bragg's angle 2θ(±0.3) of 26.2 deg., this permitting the photoreceptor to be enhanced in sensitivity.
