PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both high color reproducibility and high spatial resolution in the case that color processing is applied to a progressive scanning type solid- state image pickup device with a single board. SOLUTION: In the solid-state image pickup device consisting of plural pixels that are arranged in matrix to conduct photoelectric conversion and of color filters arranged corresponding to the pixels, the color filters include 1st, 2nd and 3rd filters whose spectral characteristics are different each other. The plural pixels are arranged along a 1st direction by a pitch L to form rows and each row is arranged at a pitch M/2 along a 2nd direction orthogonal to the 1st direction. The pixels of each row arranged in an even number order are shifted and arranged by L/2 in the 1st direction with respect to the pixels to which each row arranged in an odd number order. The 1st filters are placed corresponding to all the pixels on the odd number rows, the 2nd filters are arranged at a prescribed period so as to correspond to a half of the pixels on the even number rows and the 3rd filters are placed corresponding to the remaining pixels on the even number rows. |
