An optical fiber connector optically connects a first optical fiber and a second optical fiber. The connector includes a fiber holder, wherein the fiber holder retains a connecting optical fiber having a first end and a second end. The connector also includes first means for inducing double bends in the first optical fiber when the first optical fiber is bowed in contact with the first end of the connecting optical fiber and second means for inducing double bends in the second optical fiber when the second optical fiber is bowed in contact with the second end of the connecting optical fiber.
