PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnosing abnormality device for a fluorescent lamp by which abnormality of a fluorescent lamp is detected to exchange the fluorescent lamp at proper timing before the life of the lamp comes to the end. SOLUTION: Deterioration and blinking of a fluorescent lamp 3 are detected by a deterioration predicting and diagnosing part and a blinking detecting part of an abnormality detection part 7 which receives electric current value measured by an electric current detector 5 installed in a circuit of an electric power source 4 of the fluorescent lamp 3 and judges whether the difference of the neighboring peak values of the measured electric current exceeds a first standard value and a second standard value, and on the other hand, the disconnection of a glow lamp and the fluorescent lamp 3 is detected by a disconnection detecting part which judges whether the difference of the peak value of the measured electric current from the peak value of an initial electric current exceeds a third standard value or not and detects disconnection of the glow lamp and the fluorescent lamp 3.
