PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector main body for coaxial cables and which has a simple structure and to which a shell is easily attached. SOLUTION: This connector has an approximately box-like insulating main body 2 comprising a flat plate part 10 having an approximately circular through hole 12 which is grooved in the axial direction to form a recessed groove-like part 13 positioned in the diameter direction. A recessed joining recess part 15 which is continuous to the position of the through hole 12 of the main body 2 is formed in the back side of the flat plate part 10 at a position at about 45 deg. from the groove-like part 13. An approximately cylindrical holding part 26 with a smaller diameter than the that of the through hole 12 is coaxially projected to a supporting member 25 installed on the opposite to the flat plate part 10 at a prescribed gap from the part 10. An engagement projected part 44 projected out of the outer face of an approximately cylindrical and a conductive shell 3 is inserted into the groove part 13 and the shell 3 is fitted and inserted in the through hole 12 by fitting the holding part 26. The shell 3 is rotated, so that the engagement projected part 44 is moved beyond the back side of the flat plate part 10 from the rim of the groove part 13 and joined to the recessed joining recess part 15 and positioned. The shell 3 is connected and fixed by assembling an earth terminal 6.
