<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube satisfying all the demanded performances such as, reduction of size and weight, a low cost, a high displacement absorbability, and high durability as well as ensuring the easiness of tuning of displacement absorbing characteristic, with an increased practical value, in a flexible tube for an automobile exhaust system provided with a bellows to absorb displacement of a first exhaust pipe mounted on the engine side of an exhaust system for an automobile and a second exhaust pipe mounted on the muffler side. SOLUTION: This flexible tube for an automobile exhaust system comprises a bellows 3 to absorb displacement of two exhaust pipes 1 and 2; an outer cover 5 formed in a cylindrical shape to cover the outer periphery of the bellows 3 and fixed at one end part of the bellows 3; a protector 7" connected to the other end part of the bellows 3; and a coil spring 6 located between the free end part of the outer cover 5 and the protector and having spring two end parts respectively securely coupled to the outer cover 5 and the protector 7". A wire of which the coil spring 6 consists is formed in a square shape in cross section.</p> |
