<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and conveniently portable network server by loading only hardwares and softwares required for functioning as the network server. SOLUTION: Only the hardwares and softwares required for functioning as this network server are loaded. A hard disk 220 functioning as a permanent storage device is provided with a driver board 230 for electronically controlling it and additional electronic equipments for providing the other functions are provided as well. For instance, the additional electronic equipment includes a RAM provided with a sufficient temporary storage area so as to operate the network server 160 as the network server. The driver board 230 is also provided with a microprocessor 250 constituted so as to run the sub set of a JAVA platform. The microprocessor 250 is provided only with the ones required for executing a server application corresponding to a client request.</p> |
