PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the frequency converter which eliminates the need for an IF filter with steep characteristics by providing a 1st multiplier which receives and multiplies a local signal by (m) and a 2nd multiplier which receives and multiplies the local signal by (m-1), mixing the output of the 1st multiplier with an RF signal and obtaining a 1st IF signal, and mixing it with the output of the 2nd multiplier and obtaining a 2nd IF signal. SOLUTION: A mixer 21 mixes a signal mLo obtained by branching the local signal Lo by a divider 40 and multiplying it by (m) through the multiplier 31 to obtain RF±Lo as an IF output. Then, an IF filter 51 passes the frequency of the sum to obtain RF+mLo as a signal input to a next stage. A mixer 22, on the other hand, mixes a signal (m-1)Lo obtained by branching the local signal Lo by the divider 40 and multiplying it by (m-1) with the multiplier 32 with Rf+mLo as an input signal to obtain (RF+mLo)±(m-1)Lo as an IF output, and a filter 52 passes the frequency of the difference to obtain an output RFfLo.
