摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a storage battery having significantly high discharging performance by reducing resistance between a sealing body and an electrode so as to reduce the internal resistance of the battery. SOLUTION: An electrode body 10, which his built by winding up a positive electrode plate 11 and a negative electrode plate 12 with a separator 13 interposed between them, is enclosed in a battery case 20; a negative collector welded to the negative electrode plate 12 is welded to the inside bottom face of the battery case 20. After a positive collector 14 welded to the positive electrode plate 11 and a cross-sectionally almost U-shaped positive collector lead plate 30 are welded together, a sealing body 40 is placed in the opening section of the battery case 20 interposing an insulation gasket 50 and then the the battery is sealed by caulking the opening edge of the battery case 20 inward. After the sealing, a current carrying treatment is conducted by applying a certain voltage between a positive electrode cap 42 of the battery and the bottom face of the battery case 20 for a short period to deliver a current; thereby, a contacting position of protrusions 32, 33 formed on the upper surface of the positive collector lead plate 30 and the bottom face of the sealing body 40 are welded.</p>
