PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper phthalocyanine pigment of which almost all the particles have sizes of up to severalμm and are prism-shaped, of which the reflection spectrum under complete masking ranges widely, has the max. at a specified wavelength, and has a specified reflectance in the negative gradient at the longer wavelength side, and which has color characteristics exhibiting a fluorescent effect and shear-resistant properties, and is useful as a pigment of an agitation compounding type. SOLUTION: The 10/90 tint reflection spectrum measured under complete masking has a wide peak ranging from 400nm to 700nm and having a max. at 460±10nm, and the reflectance at 700nm in the negative gradient from 480nm to 700nm is 25% of the peak. The 'copmplete masking' means such a state that a substrate is cooled so that the ground color can not be observed. Suitably examples of the substrate are ink, a coating compsn, and a plastic, esp. an automotive clear coating material, polyvinyl chloride, a polyolefin, a polyamide, etc. This pigment is pref. aβ-type cooper phthalocyanine pigment obtd. by conditioning, such as recrystallization or grinding.
