An embossing-machine comprises an impression roller 6 having a rubber-like outer sleeve 7 co-operating with an embossing-roller comprising a support shaft 3 having a rubber-like outer sleeve 4 and a continuous hollow thin-walled copper or aluminium embossing-cylinder 2 supported on the sleeve 7 outside the sleeve 4 to define a space 5 of crescent-shaped crosssection into which, through pipes 10, 8, 7 and an annular groove 12 which receives a cut-off ring 13, is introduced cooling liquid which passes out at both ends into cups 14 leading to a sump. The sleeve 4 may also have a plurality of annular grooves of increasing depth towards the ends of the sleeve. |
