The subject invention is directed to a novel isolated angiogenin receptor expressed by endothelial cells, as well as fragments thereof, particularly those which retain angiogenin binding activity. The invention also provides nucleic acids, e.g., which encode the angiogenin receptor, which can be used as probes to detect an angiogenin receptor-encoding nucleic acid, and/or which can be used in antisense methods to inhibit expression of the receptor. The invention also provides antibodies specifically immunoreactive with the subject receptors, as well as cells ectopically expressing the receptor and methods for isolating the receptor or fragment thereof, drug screening assays, and therapeutic and diagnostic methods and compositions related thereto. |
