PRODUCTION OF METAL PART-EMBEDDED CERAMIC MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the occurrence of holes and cracks in the ceramic material by increasing the flatness of the metal member in the ceramic material in the production of ceramic materials embedded with metallic members by the hot- press method. SOLUTION: A mixture of the raw materials for ceramic material and a binder is granulated by means of a spray granulator and the granules are molded to prepare a pre-molded product 17 with a molding density of 1.4-2.5 (preferably 1.7-2.0 g/cm<3> ) and the pre-molded product 17 is hot-pressed. In a preferred embodiment, in order to embed the metal member into the pre-molded product along a prescribed flat face, the pre-molded product is monoaxially pressed toward the perpendicular direction to the prescribed flat face. The pre molded body contains the binder in an amount of 0.4-5.0 wt.% (preferably 1.0-3.0 wt.%).
