PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a battery module and reduce a cost by integrally disposing a gas passage for collecting gas discharged from each of a plurality of batteries at the side part of the battery module which is held in the state in which the batteries each having electrodes at opposite end faces are connected in series to each other. SOLUTION: In a battery module 10, clearances are formed at the side of a battery 14 and at both sides of a section where a rod member 16 is filled. The clearance functions as a gas passage 28 for collecting gas discharged from an explosion preventing valve of each of the batteries 14. The batteries 14 are disposed in series, and a clearance 30 is formed around a section where a minus electrode 25 and a plus electrode 26 abut against each other between the adjacent batteries 14. The section communicates with the clearance formed at both the sides of the rod member 16, i.e., the gas passage 28. Consequently, gas discharged from the explosion preventing valve of each of the batteries 14 is guided to the gas passage 28 via the clearance 30 and collected. |
