摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and properly position an area sensor vertical to an optical axis, regarding an automatic focusing device using a line sensor made of light receiving elements for application to a camera or the like. SOLUTION: A sensor holding member 12 is used to hold an area sensor 13 having two pairs of light receiving areas 13g and 13e, and 13f and 13h formed out of light receiving elements so as to have an object image projected through a re-imaging lens block 10 for focal point detection after the incidence of the image via an objective lens. On the other hand, a hinge 14a fitted to an AF body block 24 so as to be vertically slidable is kept in contact with a circular arc slide part 12a formed on the sensor holding member 12, and the sensor member 12 is rotated around the hinge 14a as a center, or the hinge 14a is caused to travel along an optical axis. According to this construction, the area sensor 13 is capable of adjusting inclination around two axes orthogonal with each other.
