PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain superior accuracy for a position of a mark even when an image resolution is low, by calculating the position of the mark to an image picked up with the use of a position of a trace on the image, and calculating a position of a shape function most agreeing with the trace with the use of a specific geometric shape function. SOLUTION: A position of a trace of a mark 3 on an image picked up with the use of a video camera 4 is determined. A position of the marl 3 to the video camera 4 is calculated with the use of the position of the trace on the image. Then, a position of a shape function most agreeing with the trace as a model is calculated with the use of a predetermined geometric shape function, whereby the determined position of the trace on the image is improved. A difference of light intensities on the image between the trace and geometric shape function is restricted to minimum to detect the agreement. The geometric shape function includes a Gauss' light intensity function with a variable parameter. |
