摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery in which cycle deterioration due to repetition of charging and discharging is not much, by using cobalt - nickel hydroxide with a specific composition as active material for a positive electrode of a lithium ion secondary battery. SOLUTION: As for cobalt - nickel hydroxide Co1- XNiX(ON)2 made by Co coprecipitation nickel hydroxide, numerical value limitation of each physical property is set for 0.50<=X<=0.95. Then, after a positive electrode mix is obtained by mixing the lithium cobalt nickelate, a conductive agent and a binding agent in a weight ratio of 50:40:10, a positive electrode 1 is produced by pressurizing and molding it. A negative electrode 2 is made by cutting a thin metal lithium film into a circular shape, and a reference electrode 5 is made by winding a lithium foil strip around a tip of nickel wire. A battery is assembled by using the positive electrode 1, the negative electrode 2, the reference electrode 5 and nonaqueous electrolyte 4. In the battery with this structure, deterioration of its battery characteristics can be suppressed.
