PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, capable of adjusting the degree of edge enhancement in an output image in accordance with a direction and optimumly adjusting edge enhancement degree in a photograph or a dot image without causing moire. SOLUTION: Shading correction processing is performed to inputted image information by a shading correcting means 103, and an image area separating processing means 111 discriminates the image area of image information, while using data after shading correction processing. Based on the image area discriminated result of this image area separating processing means 111, a filter- processing means 104 can be switched. Therefore, an optimum filtering processing is enabled to respective character/drawing area and photograph/dot image area. |
