PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the abnormality of a detecting means with high accuracy, by judging whether at least one of the detecting means is abnormal or not based on multiple occurrence probabilities read out at different timing. SOLUTION: The first steering angle detecting device 1 receives the voltage value corresponding to the steering angle from a potentiometer, and it converts the voltage value into the data indicating a steering angle value SR1 and outputs the data. The second steering angle detecting device 2 is provided with wheel speed sensors 3-6 arranged on four front/rear and right/left wheels respectively and a steering angle calculating circuit 7 calculating the steering angle based on the outputs of the wheel speed sensors 3, 6. The steering angle calculating circuit 7 invariably calculates a steering angle value SR2 in a specific cycle. A signal processing circuit 8 compares the steering angle value SR1 outputted from the first steering angle detecting device 1 and the steering angle value SR2 outputted from the second steering angle detecting device 2 and judges the abnormality of the first steering angle detecting device 1 or the second steering angle detecting device 2. |
