A wheel for an automobile comprises a wheel membrane (2) and a rim (3). The wheel membrane (2) in the form of a disc is made up of a central part essentially level destined for centring and fixing the wheel on the drive axle, and a peripheral part extending from the central part to the rim (3) destined to join the membrane with the rim to form the complete wheel. The wheel membrane (2) is a component moulded under low pressure in a stainless steel and the profiled rim (3) is obtained from a sheet of hammered austenitic stainless steel.The method of fabricating this wheel is also claimed |
