PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system obtaining an accurate translated sentence even in the case of an inputted sentence which quotes a part of another mail with quotation marks. SOLUTION: A quatation defining file 11 stores data on a character defined as a quotation mark. A quotation mark dividing part 2 removes a quotation mark defined by the file 11 from the text of a mail. A paragraph dividing part 3 divides the text of the mail removed of the quotation mark. A paragraph area analyzing part 4 outputs format information at each paragraph. An original sentence generating part 5 generates the original sentence of the mail which does not include format information and a translation part 6 translates this. A translated sentence generating part 7 forms a translated sentence based on format information to make the translated sentence of a format equivalent to the text of the mail. A quotation mark adding part 8 adds a quotation mark removed by the part 2 to the translated sentence which the part 7 outputs. |
