PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of density unevenness such as a fogging and a halftone over the whole area of a transfer material used in an image forming device, without increasing the scale of the device. SOLUTION: A developer is supplied to the outer peripheral of a developer carrier 1 by a supplying member 3, regulated to a fixed layer thickness by a layer thickness regulating member 4 and then, carried toward a developing area 5 in the direction of arrow K2, while being held by the magnetic force of carrying poles 7 and 8, on the developer carrier 1. In the developing area 5, development with a low charged developer is suppressed by the magnetic force of a developing pole 9, to attain proper development processing. At this time, the magnetic pole width of the developing pole 9 is set to be larger than those of the carrying poles 7 and 8, to prevent the occurrence of the density unevenness such as the fog and halftone over the whole area of an image forming area width corresponding to the magnetic pole width of the carrying poles 7 and 8. Further, it is unnecessary that the magnetic pole width (=image forming area width) of the carrying poles 7 and 8 are provided, so that the increase of the scale of a developing device 20 can be evaded. |
