PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image transfer method capable of performing a stable transfer without causing leakage, etc., by making a current supplied to a corotron transfer unit small. SOLUTION: The color image forming device is provided with an intermediate transfer body 1 as a first transfer device, a transfer belt 2 as a second transfer device, the corotron transfer unit 3, a photoreceptor 5 and developing units 6a-6d. A bias of 600V to 800V having a polarity opposite to that of the charge of toner is applied to the intermediate transfer body 1 and a low current of 250μA to 350μA flows in the corotron transfer unit 3, to obtain sufficient transfer efficiency. Thus, the stable transfer can be performed without the occurrence of the leakage, etc.
