PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small sized cross connector with low power consumption even when the cross connector handles communication requiring a large capacity in the cross connector having redundant constitution used for an optical transmission system or the like suitable for long distance transmission of information requiring a high capacity at a high speed. SOLUTION: This cross connector is provide with a current system cross connect means 1 forming a current system and consisting of plural frames of the same internal constitution, a spare system cross connect means 2 that forms a spare system and is constituted of number of frames less than that of the current system cross connect means 1 and a changeover control means 3 that makes in use each frame consisting of the spare system cross connect means 2 in place of the faulty frame respectively, when a fault occurs in at least one frame among the plural frames consisting of the current system cross connect means 1. |
