PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision in position-detection of a magnetic head and realize reduction in the number of components and reduction in occupied space, by eliminating the influence of play between a feed screw and a moving element. SOLUTION: In a magnetic medium reader/writer 1 having a magnetic head 11 for reading and writing magnetic information of a magnetic medium 6, position information 4, 5 for detecting the relative position of the magnetic medium 6 and the magnetic head 11 is provided on the magnetic medium 6, and a sensor 2 for reading the position information 4, 5 is provided on the magnetic head 11 or a moving element 10 on which the magnetic head 11 is mounted. |
