<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable compression encoding through predictive processing and to execute image compression, to which predictive processing is performed, and image compression, to which predictive processing is not performed, while arbitrarily switching them by performing run length compression processing for image data in the unit of prescribed blocks and executing the image compres sion while performing entropy encoding for the processing result. SOLUTION: A run length compression processing part 150 turns on the switches of the predictive processing part 130 and the inverse predictive processing part 170, predictive processing is executed at the predictive processing part 130, and inverse predictive processing is executed at the inverse predictive processing part 170. The threshold values A of the effective coefficient and threshold values B of the number of the effective coefficient are inputted from a parameter input part 200, the run length compression processing part 150 counts the number of zero continued in the predicted image data and when the effective coefficients appear, these coefficient are temporarily stored in a memory 210 by performing run length compression processing while collecting them as one set. An entropy encoding part 90 reads out this result and executes entropy encoding.</p> |
