PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain power-saving effect by power factor improvement by a low-voltage capacitor by controlling the ON/OFF of a switch based on the current quantity detected by a detector which detects the quantity of the current flowing through a low-voltage side circuit. SOLUTION: When a current flows from a controller 7 to an exciting coil L, the switch makes its movable contact A to connect a 2nd low-voltage capacitor 42 to the low-voltage side circuit 2, and disconnects it when no current flows to the exciting coil L. The controller 7 compares the quantity of the current from the low-voltage side circuit 2 detected by the detector 6 with a previously set reference value and supplies a current to the exciting coil L of the switch when the reference voltage is exceeded (when the load-side power factor is small) to automatically make the movable contact A, and the 2nd low-voltage capacitor 42 is connected automatically to the low-voltage side circuit 2, but when the reference value is larger (when the load-side power factor is large), the current supply to the switch 5 is stopped and the movable contact A is automatically broken, so that the low-voltage side capacitor 42 is separated from the low-voltage side circuit 2. |
