The system has a transmitter which converts incoming speech sounds into elementary sound elements and transmits them as packets. The transmitter has a library of written syllables which are matched to the elementary frequency spectrum of the transmission. The transmitter transmits the binary code which is the nearest to that produced by the analysis. The digital information is passed across a transmission line to a receiver which converts the digital packets back to speech sounds.
