A method of treatment of an animal to recover from vapour anaesthetics administration is provided, the method comprising delivering to a patient gases which do not contain CO2 at a specified rate, and gases containing CO2 to maintain the same PCO2 in the animal independent of the rate of ventilation, at the rate of ventilation of the animal which exceeds the rate of administration of the gases which do not contain CO2. |
