The clothes hanger (1) is hung on a rod near its top edge (20) and has a hanger opening (11) for the rod (10) to pass through. There is an indentation (13) in the top edge of the hanger, just above the opening. The upper half of the opening is surrounded by circular segment fins (14,15) which blend in without interruption. When the hanger is in its normal position, the edges of the indentation are adjacent to one another.
