A bed coil spring unit (10) comprising a plurality of joined and interconnected spring cell units (11) and a method of manufacturing the same. Each spring cell unit (11) comprises a plurality of coil springs (21) within long legs (14) which long legs (14) are used to form the coil springs (21). Each spring cell unit (11) has a generally vertical axis (40). The coil springs (21) which make up each spring cell unit (11) are positioned symmetrically about the central axis (40).
