Fuel feed cooler for motor vehicle internal combustion engine

The fuel line between the fuel tank and the engine and/or the return fuel line to the fuel tank, passes through a heat exchanger housing (12) in thermal contact with the chassis (11). The part of the chassis chosen is cooled by the slipstream of the moving vehicle. The heat exchanger is fitted to the inside of the chassis and is thus protected by the chassis against damage. Another mounting site for the heat exchanger is on the interior of a wheel arch, in a position for protection against collision damage. The heat exchanger is bolted to the chassis and is shaped to provide a maximum thermal contact with the chassis.
