METHOD OF ASSEMBLING WEB OR FILM MATERIALS UTILISING A STATIC ELECTRICAL CHARGE

A method of adhering pieces of first web (10) to second continuous web (11) using an adhesive applied to first web (10) from dispenser (19). First web (10) is transferred from roll (12) around rotating drum (14) where first web (10) is cut transversely across the width to form the pieces using knife roll (15) which rotatably cooperates with rotating drum (14). The cut pieces are then transferred one-by-one from rotating drum (14) onto second continuous web (11) using transfer roll (16). In order to maintain first web (10) securely against rotating drum (14) during operation, an electric static charge is applied to the first web (10) or to rotating drum (14) using electrostatic charging unit (17).
