The suction unit has a collector with intake pipes having openings (44) in the walls, which are closed by flap valves on a shaft (23). The shaft has a ring-shaped elastomer damper element, and is held in a bearing sleeve (44,45) in the element area. Each valve flap has a first and a second sealing hood on opposite ends concentric to the shaft. The hoods are open on the side away from the valve flaps, and are positively connected to the flaps on the other sides. Each valve flap has an all-sealing lip, which is formed integrally with the hoods. Both hoods also consist of an elastomer material.
