METHOD OF SOLID-PHASE WELDING MEMBERS

A welding insert layer of any one of Au, Au alloys, Ag, Ag alloys, Pt, Pt alloys, Pd and Pd alloys is provided on the surface of each of two members to be welded, and the surface of each welding insert layer contains not more than 20 at% of carbon, 10 at% of sulfur and not more than 5 at% of oxygen. The surfaces of the welding insert layers are put together, and the two members are welded in solid phase to each other in the atmospheric air or in an atmosphere containing not less than 20 % of oxygen at a temperature in the range of 150-300 DEG C.
