Pressure-sealed flange especially for space flight applications

A pressure-sealed flanged circular interface has two flanges separated by a V-shaped seal-filled channel. The lower flange has an approx. L-shaped cross-section with an X-shaped sealing ring, against which rests the rear of the upper flange. The flange circular outer edges are held by an outer ring with 12 claws top and bottom. The ring holds the two flanges in alignment and prevents axial motion between the two. The ring is retained in position by a strap.
