PURPOSE:To improve characteristics by opening and closing an oil outflow control hole of a partition plate by the deformation of a temperature detecting element of a fan coupling while changing the flow passage area of the control hole little by little with a plug member tapering toward its end projected from a valve member. CONSTITUTION:A disk 7 is secured to a rotary body 1 to support a sealed housing comprising a cover 3 and a case 2. An oil chamber 6 is separated with a partition plate 5 from a torque transmission chamber 4. A valve member 8 is provided with a tapered plug member 14 for engaging with an outflow control hole 5'. When a temperature detecting element 10 is deformed by the ambient temperature change, a connecting rod 9 moves to open the valve member. Since the flow passage area of the lubricant oil outflow control hole 5' is changed little by little according to the valve opening by the tapered shape of the plug member 14, the oil inflow to the torque transmission chamber 4 is limited to a necessary minimum amount, revolution of the fan is increased only by a number necessary, and excessive cooling and noise are prevented. |
