PURPOSE:To control particle diameter of pulverized polymer useful for mechanical parts by regulating oxygen concentration in an irradiation atmosphere gas surrounding the polymer and reducing an irradiation dose of radiation. CONSTITUTION:In pulverizing a degradable polymer such as polytetrafluoroethylene resin by irradiating the polymer with radiation, oxygen concentration in an irradiation atmosphere surrounding the polymer is regulated, irradiation dose of radiation such as electron rays is reduced and particle diameter of pulverization can be controlled. For example, ratio of 010m particle size by pulverization is about 90% at 21% oxygen concentration at 90Mrad irradiation dose and about 98% at 60% oxygen concentration at the same irradiation dose. |
