PURPOSE:To obtain a preferable picture when a background is dark at the time of taking the photograph of a person as an object with high brightness by controlling an exposure controller so as to set an exposure quantity wherein a range-found object does not fall into over-exposure when the brightness of the range-found object is higher than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:The exposure controller is controlled so as to set the exposure quantity wherein the range-found object does not fall into over-exposure. Name ly, since the light receiving angle of a range-finding photodetector 1 is narrower than a range-finding photodetector 21 and the photoelectric output changes according to the brightness of the range-found object, whether or not the bright ness of the range-found object is higher than the prescribed value can be detected. When the brightness of the range-found object is high than the pre scribed value, the exposure controller is controlled so as to set the exposure quantity wherein the range-found object does not fall into over-exposure. Thus, when the brightness of the object is high and the background is dark, the object is prevented from falling into over-exposure, therefore, a preferable picture can be obtained. |
