<p>A system for the detection of bacteria antibody complexes. A sample to be tested for the presence of a bacteria is placed in a medium which medium contains antibodies attached to a surface for binding to a specific bacteria to form an antigen to antibody complex. The medium is contacted with an incident beam of light energy. Some of the energy is emitted from the medium as a lower resonance enhanced Raman backscattered energy. The presence or absence of the microorganism is detected based on the characteristic spectral peak of said microorganism.</p> |
