Balloon=like covering for bedposts esp. to simulate a football

Balloon-like support enclosures for bedposts or similar articles are made using a spherical elastic object with an elastic outer layer (1) containing an inflatable bladder. Part of the outer layer (1) is removed by perforating it with a hole (6a) through which the bladder is removed to leave an inner space (4). A balloon-like bag (2) is introduced into the space (4) and the inner wall of the bag is moistened with water. The inner wall of the bag (2) is then coated with hardenable foam (3) and the bladder is placed inside the bag (2). The bladder is inflated with a gas to give the outer layer (1) its balloon-like shape.
