Sensor for a planetary skew rolling mill as a CCD camera

The planetary skew rolling mill incorporates driven skew rolls installed in a driven rotor, and a sensor which measures angular deviations of the emerging rolled material and provides data for a control unit governing the drives of the rolling mill determining the rotation of the rolled material. This sensor takes the form of a CCD camera. Image sequences from this camera are fed to an image processing unit which issues control signals in the form of a voltage to the control unit.
